Northumberland vs Lothian – Swanston Golf Club
Today we played our first match of the year, with the traditional encounter with our friends from the Lothians, at Swanston Golf Club.
The match score was Lothians 11½ Northumberland 6½. There were a lot of positives in defeat, with Harrison Sewell and James Cram both securing their first singles victories.
Captain Graham Forrest was delighted to present Zak Laws with his County Colours after a good win (pictured).
Steven Ashley made his debut today, and we welcomed Simon Lee back to the fold after too many years away.
A big thanks to the Executive for their support on the course today.
Congratulations to the Lothians on their victory today- we also thank them for their usual fantastic hospitality at both Swanston and Merchants of Edinburgh Golf Clubs.
We look forward to the rest of the season, starting with the match against Yorkshire at Pannal, in May.
