International award for Need Golf

Cheshire Golf were delighted to win the English County of the Year award at the England Golf Awards Ceremony at the Deansgate Hotel in Manchester.

We were delighted to be joined by Cheshire’s Need Golf who won the English Golf Facility of the Year Award.

Need Golf was set up just six years ago on a farmer’s field just outside Nantwich by young entrepreneurs James and Sophie Need.

Their facility now has 50,000 annual visitors with an 85% return rate a global online audience of more than 250.000 followers where James’ coaching platform has grown into a successful international golf academy. Sophie said: “Winning the award was a very proud moment for our whole team and a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the journey James and I have been on for the last six years.

“When we first started the site was simply an agricultural field with no amenities and to be now recognised as one of the best golf facilities in the country is incredibly rewarding.

“It’s amazing to see how the hard work, belief and determination of everyone involved pays off.”

A couple of weeks later Need Golf Golf doubled up on their awards at international level by winning the Toptracer Range of the Year across Europe, the Middle East and Africa at the 2026 EMEA awards in Madrid placing them amongst the very best in the world.

Globally there are more than 1,550 Toptracer-enabled ranges across 38 countries, with over 550 in Europe alone making the recognition a significant international achievement.

Sophie collected the award in Madrid and she said: “To be recognised on an international stage like this is incredibly special.

“When you look at the scale and quality of facilities across Europe and beyond to be named number one is something we are extremely proud of.

“With international recognition now secured the team say they are only just getting started.

“This award isn’t the finish line, it’s the fuel for what comes next. We are continuing to invest, evolve and push forward with our mission to make golf more inclusive, more modern and more accessible for everyone.
