A great day here at Gosforth Golf Club where we held the Fenwick-Smith trophy. Thanks again to the club, the bar and catering staff and the green keepers, who all played their part in a really successful day.
The golf was, for the first time, decided by play off, after Andy Ross of Arcot Hall Golf Club and Phil Ridden of the City of Newcastle tied on a one under par 68.
After 2 pars on the first, it was Andy who had 2 putts to win after a bogey from Phil- however 1 putt was enough for a birdie 3 and the victory.
Well done Andy.
