Beaumont Trophy

Beaumont Trophy

The Beaumont trophy is competed for by clubs affiliated to the Suffolk Golf Union.

It is a handicap competition with teams of eight competing against each other on a 4BBB match play basis over 18 holes.

Players must be a minimum of 55 years of age on the day of the competition.

Minimum handicap index is ‘12.1’. Maximum handicap index is 20.0. A player with a higher handicap Index may play but would have to play off a handicap index of ‘20.0’.

Scoring is on a cumulative holes basis (rather than matches) meaning every hole counts and all 18 holes must be completed in each individual match. The team winning the most holes will progress to the next round.

The initial rounds are either home or away and the semi-final and final are played at a neutral venue.

Once entries are confirmed a draw takes place each year, with the first round beginning in May/June.

RECENT WINNERS

The 2025 final was played at Rushmere on Thursday 2nd October between Bury St Edmunds and Bramford. With three matches finishing all square the one hole win in one match for Bury St Edmunds was enough for them to win.
